SALVATION by Grace

A new page in our life full of freedom

Life at its maximum

A new birth

By Chris M. Thomas

Salvation means redemption from sin. It means turning a new page in some ones life full of freedom. In order to redeem something; you need to pay a price. In this case, God paid his own begotten son as a currency to buy us who were sinners and unworthy. This is the ultimate price that anyone has ever paid since the beginning of the Universe.

The first question you need to ask yourself is this. Why should we need to be saved?

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”

It teaches us that all men are sinners and we need a Saviour. No one can say that he’s sinless just because he’s good.

The Bible says in Romans 5:12 that “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”

It teaches us that the consequence of sin is death.

The Bible says in Isaiah 53:6 that “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”

This verse teaches us that Jesus is our substitute which God has sent for redeeming or reclaiming us In Christ.

Salvation means turning a new page in our life. It means putting on a new being or Christ and throwing away our old being forever. The bible says in Romans 6:6 that

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”

It means being In Christ . This phrase or its equivalent is mentioned 130 times in the New Testament. Notice the following verses.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:30 that “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:3,4 that “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ : According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”

This verse also teaches us that we are called before the foundation of the world. Before the beginning as described in Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”

What is the beginning? The Bible says in John1:2, 3 & 4 that “The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men”

The bible says in Colossians 1:16,17 that “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him And he is before all things, and by him all things consist”

The beginning is a period some thousands of years ago when time was born. It was beginning of life and creation where all things in the Universe and the microbial world were made by God himself. He is the master creator.

It is said that a tea spoon of soil contains micro-organisms that are more in number than the all humans ever born on planet earth.

Who was in the beginning? The bible says in John1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”

It teaches us that God was himself in the beginning.

What does it mean to be In Christ? To be in Christ is to share in all that Christ is and all that he did. The Bible says that God has “blessed us with all spiritual blessings….in Christ” Some of the blessings which he has promised us are;

Firstly, In Christ we are forgiven.

The bible says in Colossians 1:14 that “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins”

Secondly, In Christ we are justified.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 that “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”

Justified means to be declared righteous. That’s In Christ.

Thirdly, In Christ we are accepted by God

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:6 that “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved”

This verse teaches us that before we were saved, we were enemies of God. Now we are accepted as his own dear Children.

How can we be In Christ or be born-again?

We must first realize that there are two families in this world the family of Adam and the family of Christ. Every person born in flesh belongs to the family of Adam.

Being born again is to be in the family of Christ from Adam through the cross which is grace. The Bible says in Romans 5:19 that “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous”

Grace is receiving something which we are not worthy to receive.

The Bible says in Romans 5: 21 that “As sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord”

The Bible says in John 3:21 that “As sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord”

When Nicodemus had this doubt in John 3:1-23 Jesus told him lovingly that “Ye must be born again”

Being born again is a spiritual process than a physical one.

The Bible says in John 3:8 that “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit”

The basic foundation of Salvation is Faith. Notice the following verses

The bible says in Luke 5:20 that “when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee”

The Bible says in Luke 7:50 that “And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

The Bible says in Luke 8:48 that “And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace”

The Bible says in Luke 18:42 that “And Jesus said unto him, receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee”

The Bible says in Romans 3:22 that “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference”

The Bible says in Luke 8:25 that “And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, what manner of man is this! For he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him”

The Bible says in Luke 22:32 that “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”

How to have faith?

The bible says in Romans10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. It teaches us that we need to hear the word of God to have faith

Without faith that Jesus is all you need for your Salvation by grace, you cannot be saved.

Simple steps of Salvation

Firstly, we must hear the truth.

The bible says in Romans 10:14 “how then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Secondly, we must believe Jesus Christ is the Son Of God.

The Bible says in Mark16:16 that “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned”

The Bible says in John 8:24 that “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins”

Thirdly, we must repent of our sins

The Bible says in Luke 13:3 that “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”

The Bible again says in Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent….for the remission of your sins”

Fourthly, we must confess Christ before men.

The Bible says in Matthew 10:32&33 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven”

Fifthly, we must be baptized into Christ

The Bible says in Galatians 3:27 “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”

The Bible again says in 1 Peter 3:21 “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”

Lastly, we must continue to live In Christ,

The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:10 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall”

What will happen when you get saved?

When you get saved you get a new life full of freedom. All your past are remembered no more. You are free, yes, forever.

And Holy Spirit, the helper comes to reside in you and circumcise your heart. You cannot see it. It’s just like the wind which blows in John 3:8

The Bible says in John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

You get peace which surpasses all understanding. Peace cannot be bottled and sold over the counter. But it’s Jesus who takes away our yoke and gives you and me peace for ever.

The Bible says in Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”

The Bible says in Matthew 11:30 “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”

The bible says in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

You get eternal life and a home in heaven.

The Bible says in John 5:12 “He who me has the Son has life”

The Bible again says in John 14:2 “In my father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you.

Dear Friend, I am asking these most important questions in life to you today. Your joy and blessings of your life depends on it today.

Do you have this peace today? Do you enjoy the newness of Life? Do you enjoy life at its maximum? Do you have freedom? Are you saved today? This is a personal question which you have to ask yourselves today.

Salvation is personal. It’s a personal relationship between you and your father in heaven. He wants to embrace you. He won’t allow anyone to snatch you away from him. He’s seeking you today.

Just pray this prayer from your heart if you want Jesus to be your friend like he is to me. He did not came to establish a religion or to contradict science. Science is complementary to his gospel.

Once some journalists asked James Simpson , the inventor of chloroform ” What was your greatest invention?” He replied, “My greatest invention is finding out on a Christmas Day that I am a great sinner and that I NEED A SAVIOUR.

In 1633, the Catholic Church condemned Galileo who said that the shape of the earth is round and misunderstood his statement as anti-scriptural. the Bible proves that the earth is round. Galileo who studied the Bible in depth was quite God fearing.

” I don’t see the Bible as an armoury; rather as the house of God to view the beauty of God daily. Two books are kept in front of us to keep us away from sins; First is the scripture that reveals the will of God.: second is the universe- the book that reveals the power of God.

“Young friend, get introduced to the Bible; believe the scriptures. Jesus provided us the greatest moral doctrines the world has ever seen”

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

Charles Darwin (1808-1882) in his childhood was God fearing. He never rejected God or his teachings. The last sentence in the 15th chapter of the origin of Species (1859) reveals his faith in God. He says, ” There is a grandeur in this view of life with its several powers having been originally breathed by the creator into a few forms or into one” page 374. Darwin himself was not satisfied with his Theory. (Life and Letters of Darwin, Page 313)

A few months before his death, he was bed ridden and was helped by a Christian worker named Lady Hope. On a beautiful evening he extended his hands toward the sunset and he exclaimed ” Ha! How marvelous!!” Seeing a Bible in his other hand Lady Hope enquired ” What are you reading now? He replied ” Its the book of Hebrews; I call it the royal book” When asked about his opinion about some people who mock at divine creation, he answered with a grievous heart ” I was a youth with shapeless ideas; excited with everything, I just expressed some doubts and ideas. In my book too I wrote down certain ideas and gestures, which cannot be proved. I was surprised to see those ideas spreading like wildfire. Considering them as scientific truths, men believed it all. People changed it into a religion.”

After pausing for a while, looking at the Bible he was holding reverently, he talked a lot about the holiness of god and the greatness of the Bible. With great interest he asked Lady Hope to hold a prayer meeting in his 30 seat garden room and he preached about Salvation and sang great hymns with musical instruments.

Just pray this prayer from your heart if you want Jesus to be your friend like he is to me. He did not came to establish a religion or to contradict science. Science is complementary to his gospel.

“Dear God of Abraham,Issac and Jacob. I acknowledge my sins and that Jesus Christ is your son who died for the sins of the world including mine. I submit my life unto you. Take control of my life and come into my heart and make it your throne. In Jesus name I pray. Amen”

If you don’t believe then just test God for a month. Just tell him

“Dear God of Abraham,Issac and Jacob. If you are truly the only living God then please prove unto me within one month that I may have you as my friend” Amen

There is nothing more than becoming a friend of God. If you accepted Jesus into your heart or if God proved to you within one month that he truly is God then let me know. I will pray for you and sent to you Bible resources for free . You may email me christarzan@gmail.com with your address or if you have any prayer request .

Remember, Jesus didn’t come to extablish a religion. He came to be your friend.

Save the enviroment! Go green!
