A Letter to a Pastor
“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” Jeremiah 6:16
We have entered into a time of crisis and that crisis has spread around the world. I am besieged by many pastors from many countries for help, but there is little to help them with. This crisis has been coming for a long time now, and it is just beginning to break out onto the surface of our lives. I would like to share with you my response to one of those pastors in Africa:
Dear Pastor,
We are in a time that is much like the time when Elijah was hidden by the widow of Zarepath, who was a picture of the Church. There was nothing left in the barrel other than enough for a last meal before they starved to death. And yet the Lord preserved her and her son through the famine because of their faithfulness to His prophet.
We have brought this famine upon ourselves because, just like the Israelites, we have forsaken the true Gospel for a golden calf that was more to our liking. He has taken that golden calf away, and we are left with the empty promises of a false Gospel based on the illusions of prosperity and wealth, on blessings that are based on wishful thinking, and on a love that is defined only by our hope for an excuse to get away with worldliness and sin. We are reaping what we have sown.
While I scrape together something to send you, please remember that I have always warned the ministers in Africa who thought they had obtained a position of honor rather than a ministry of selfless humility. That mode of thinking is endemic in Africa. It’s as if there is such a lust for personal recognition and a desire to become tribal chieftains that they have forgotten what the Lord really called them for – to serve, not to be served. It is evident in how they adorn themselves with their titles. Everyone calls themselves a pastor, they are full of apostles, and everyone is striving to attach the title of bishop or prophet to the front of their name.
So where are all these great and mighty powerhouses of God now? Like cockroaches, they are scurrying for cover. Where are all the great promises they have given us now? They are empty milk cans with holes punctured throughout the bottom of the can. Where are all their prophesies of prosperity and blessings now? They have dissipated like wisps of empty clouds before the wind of their own vanity. The Grace of God is not cheap, and the blessings of God are not bestowed upon a lukewarm, anemic pretention of righteousness.
You remember that I warned everyone of a coming storm, that the dark clouds of war are on the way. I pleaded with congregation after congregation to dive deeply into the Word of God and to sink their roots in deep or they would be blown away in the storm. How many bobbed their heads up and down in an superficial acknowledgement! They believed that I was a prophet, but they didn’t take my words to heart – and I told them right to their face that that’s exactly what they would do. And now we are beginning to see those spoken words take on a harsh substance.
This is not the storm yet. This is just the winds that precede it. The worst is yet to come.
And still, they refuse to hearken, clinging instead to a desperate hope that the empty promises of blessings will come to an unbroken, unrepentant church whose hope is based on wishful thinking rather than righteousness. We would so much rather listen to the songs of false prophets about a loving “Daddy, than face the stark realities of the fear of God.
Today I was reading Ephesians, and stopped at the scripture in chapter 4: “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” The word “sleight” actually refers to a gambling die. We throw the dice each time we lean into the easy “feel good” messages we turn to on the radio and TV, and the Christian Self-Help books we rush to for an easy solution. Oh, how we hope we can find an quick answer to our plight by taking the easy way out and skirting around the hard messages of repentance and righteousness that is found in the Bible!
And by doing so, we throw the dice and gamble with our souls by lending our ears to some new thing- ANYTHING but the Fear of God. Instead of going up the mountain to face God like Moses did, we will pay our $19.95 to anyone that will convince us of an easier way. And we end up creating gods in our own image that will allow us to skirt the call to repentance.
But the great stone wheel of Judgment continues to roll in spite of our objections to a critical Gospel that we try desperately to avoid. We thought that the calm before the storm was our reprieve, but the storm clouds are gathering, and now we feel the winds that are beginning to blow.
The lush fields that Ahab looked to when Elijah first brought his message of judgment have withered to a brown and dusty land of drought. We have done our best to put away the prophets that stood for that old fashioned Gospel in an attempt to replace them with the prophets of Baal that promise rain, and we seek to persecute the prophet that proclaimed these warnings to us, but it is not the words of the prophet that have brought this upon us – it is our own failure to fear God.
We have an appointment on the top of Mount Carmel, and judgment will fall before it begins to rain.

White House joins ‘birth hospital’ cover-up

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs today refused to confirm that a letter posted by the Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu – purportedly from President Obama claiming the facility as his birthplace – is, in fact, real.
The issue arose today when Les Kinsolving, WND’s correspondent at the White House, asked Gibbs about the letter, which the hospital also used in a magazine fundraising article.
However, when WND reported on the posted images and questioned their authenticity, the hospital concealed the online image, and then refused to confirm the letter even exists.
Gibbs’ answer came in response to Kinsolving’s question, which begins at the 55:27 mark into the video recorded by C-SPAN:
While you and the president were overseas on July the 7th, there was on the Internet a copy of a letter on White House letterhead dated January the 24th, 2009, with the signature “Barack Obama,” which stated, “The place of my birth was Honolulu’s Kapi’olani Medical Center.” And my question is, can you verify this letter? Or if not, would you tell us which Hawaiian hospital he was born in, since Kapi’olani, which used to publicize this, now refuses to confirm?

Gibbs said, without responding directly to the question about the veracity of the letter, “Goodness gracious. I’m going to be, like, in year four describing where it is the president was born. I don’t have the letter at my fingertips, obviously, and I don’t know the name of the exact hospital.”
When Kinsolving asked when Gibbs could check, he responded.
“I will seek to interview whoever brought the president into this world. But can we just – I want to do this once and for all, Lester. Let’s just do this once and for all. You can go on this – I hope you’ll take the time not just to Google ‘President, January 24, Hawaii hospital, birth’ and come up with this letter, but go on the Internet and get the birth certificate, Lester, and put…”
When Kinsolving pointed out the image posted on various website’s was not a birth certificate or a certificate of live birth, but a different “Certification of Live Birth” document, Gibbs said, “I know. Just a document from the state of Hawaii denoting the fact that the president was indeed born in the state of Hawaii.”
But under Hawaiian law at the time of the president’s birth, such documents were available for babies not even born in Hawaii.
Obama states in the purported letter that he was born at Kapi’olani. The letter was posted by the medical center for nearly six months on its website before being electronically hidden once WND publicized it.
Now the hospital refuses to confirm that a real document even exists. But a similar – although not identical – image purporting also to be a letter from Obama claiming Kapi’olani as his birth place appeared in the hospital’s Inspire Magazine:

Then Gibbs, amidst a repeating chorus of guffaws and giggles from the White House press corps, started lecturing the WND correspondent, who is among a handful of the most senior correspondents on the White House assignment, about journalism.
“You know, Lester, I – I want to stay on this for a second, Lester, I want to stay on this for a second, because you’re a smart man, right?” said Gibbs.
“Hypothetical,” said an unidentified reporter.
“All right, all right, settle down in here. Only I get to make jokes like that,” said Gibbs.
“Lester, let’s finish this one. Do all of your listeners and the listeners throughout this country the service to which any journalist owes those listeners, and that is the pursuit of the noble truth. And the noble truth is that the president was born in Hawaii, a state of the United States of America. And all of this incredible back-and-forth – I get e-mails today from people who inexplicably can figure out very easily the White House e-mail address, and want proof of where the president was born,” Gibbs said.
“Lester, the next time you ask me a question I’m going to ask you what reporting you’ve done to demonstrate to your listeners the truth, the certificate, the state, so that they can look to you for that momentous search for the truth, and you can wipe away all the dark clouds and provide them with the knowing clarity that comes with that certainty,” Gibbs said.
However, WND has reported that a wide range of Obama documentation – along with Obama’s birth certificate – are not available, including Obama’s kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and his adoption records.
WND has reported that just within the last week, at least two reports have cited Obama’s birth in Kenya.Wikipedia also was found to have been reporting on Obama’s birth in Kenya, before a series of scrubs placed his birth in Honolulu.
And that came on the heels of several online information sites changing the president’s supposed birthplace from one hospital in Hawaii to another, after WND broke the news of the letter said to be from the White House.
When WND exposed doubts about the authenticity of the letter because it was created with HTML computer code, the hospital which for nearly six months proudly declared Obama was born at its facility and used that claim as a major fund-raising tool commenced an active cover-up, hiding that White House letter from its original webpage and refusing to confirm such a letter actually exists.
WND has yet to be able to identify any physician or medical attendant present at Kapi’olani Hospital in 1961 who can recall Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, giving birth to Barack Obama at the hospital or who can identify the name of the attending physician.
To date, Obama has not revealed his original long-form, hospital-generated “Certificate of Live Birth” that includes details such as the name of the medical facility and the doctor who delivered him.
Here is an actual Hawaii birth certificate from 1963 (the same era as Obama’s birth), which while redacted includes detailed information documenting a birth, including the name of the birth hospital and the attending physician. Beneath it is the short-form “Certification of Live Birth” offered by Obama as proof of his Hawaiian birth. It is possible to have been born outside of Hawaii and still obtain the latter form, but not the former:

WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen” – challenges that all have been confronted by attorneys acting on the president’s behalf to keep his records sealed.
The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”
Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama’s American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.
Other challenges have focused on Obama’s citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.
Complicating the situation is Obama’s decision to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest all of the questions.
Among the cases have been several from Democrat Philip Berg, who has alleged that not only is Obama ineligible to be president, he was unqualified to be the senator from Illinois and should be prosecuted under the False Claims Act.
The key question in the dispute also is being raised on billboards nationwide.

The billboard campaign follows an ongoing petition campaign launched several months ago by WND Editor and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Farah.
They are intended to raise public awareness of the fact that Obama has never released the standard “long-form” birth certificate that would show which hospital he was born in, the attending physician and establish that he truly was born in Hawaii, as his autobiography maintains.

More than eight months after Barack Obama was elected president, the mystery surrounding his precise birthplace is deepening as the myth-busting website Snopes.com – along with several news agencies and an Obama community blog – directly contradict the president’s own claim regarding the hospital in which he was born.
In an official letter signed by Obama on White House stationery, the president celebrates his birth at the Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, Hawaii. The facility has posted that letter on its website, along with video of the letter being read in public.

But according to Snopes, the popular online hoax-buster that many rely on as the final word on both important and frivolous stories, Obama was born at a different hospital in the Hawaiian capital.
In Snopes’ entry concerning allegations that Obama is a “radical Muslim,” the site addresses the birth history of the commander in chief, stating, “Barack Hussein Obama was born on 4 August 1961 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.”
WND took a screen shot of the entry and highlighted the name of the hospital.

Within just 90 minutes of the WND report, Snopes swapped the location of the president’s birth from Queen’s to Kapi’olani, as evinced by this screen shot from the exact same Web address:

It noted some ambiguity by stating, “News accounts have also variously placed his birth as having occurred at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.”)
Interestingly, in Snopes’ entry focusing on the natural-born citizenship controversy, no mention is made of the birth hospital.
But Snopes is not alone in asserting Obama was born at a hospital other than the one he personally claims.
A number of news articles published both in the U.S. and abroad name Queen’s Medical Center – not Kapi’olani – as the correct birthplace.
A United Press International report from Nov. 4 states:
“Obama described his birth at Queen’s Medical Center in Hawaii Aug. 4, 1961, to a young white woman from Kansas and a father of Luo ethnicity from Nyanza Province in Kenya, as an ‘all-America’ story transcending orthodox racial stereotypes and experience.”

After this WND story was originally posted, UPI also swapped the hospital of birth to indicate Obama was born at Kapi’olani, as shown here at the same online address:

A November 2004 report from the Rainbow Edition News Letter, published by the Education Laboratory School in Hawaii, noted in its lead sentence:
“Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.”

Adding a twist to the dispute is a separate claim on the MyBarackObama.com campaign website that lists a genealogy for Obama citing his birthplace as Queen’s Medical Center.

The site documents Obama’s lineage back to his great-great-great grandparents, who lived in the mid-1800s.
It states: “Barack Hussein OBAMA was born on 4 August 1961 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein OBAMA, Sr. of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann DUNHAM of Wichita, Kansas.”

Kenya’s East African Standard, in an Aug. 24, 2006, article titled “From Young ‘Barry’ to Top American Senator,” said of Obama: “The Harvard Law School and Columbia University graduate was born at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Honolulu in Hawaii, where his parents were studying at the East-West Centre of the University of Hawaii in Manoa.”
But news agencies are hardly unanimous on the exact hospital.
The Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Honolulu Advertiser and Washington Post have all published stories indicating Obama was born at the Kapi’olani Medical Center, in agreement with the president’s letter to the facility.
But even the Honolulu Advertiser, in a Nov. 9 article, admitted “the hospital where he was born is difficult to document,”as officials clam up while citing federal privacy laws.
“We can’t confirm or deny it – even though all the information out there says he was born at Kapi’olani Hospital,” said hospital spokeswoman Claire Tong. “Our hands are tied.”
The Encyclopedia Britannica mentions only that Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, but makes no reference to any hospital.
The Associated Press reports that Internet users are far from ignorant about the questions over Obama’s birthplace and documentation.
“Among the top search terms paired with Barack Obama: biography, Israel, news, jokes, stimulus package, birth certificate (related to those persistent but unfounded rumors that Obama is not a natural-born citizen and thus ineligible to be president.),” the news organization stated.
Makana Shook, corporate communications coordinator for Queen’s, told WND, “The hospital is not allowed to give out any information to the public about patients without the patient’s permission, because of federal HIPAA law restrictions.”
Kapi’olani officials said they would release any documentation they may have about the president’s birth if the president gives his permission to make the documentation public.
The White House did not respond to a WND request for comment.
The question to the White House noted the multiple references to Queen’s. “Then, beginning sometime after the start of 2009, the president and various members of his family, including his sister Maya Soetoro, changed the story and gave interviews (or wrote letters as above) claiming President Obama was born at Kapi’olani Medical Center.
“Why did the president claim to be born at two different hospitals in Hawaii?” WND asked. “Which is the true hospital where the president was born?”
Snopes responded to a WND request for comment about the conflict between its report and Obama’s statement with an automated message that shed no light on the matter.
WND has reported that among the documentation – besides his birth certificate – not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
That may very well be intentional on the part of Obama, who used his first full day in residence in the Oval Office to issue an executive order restricting the release of presidential records.
“Upon receipt of a notice of intent to disclose presidential records, the attorney general (directly or through the assistant attorney general for the office of legal counsel) and the counsel to the president shall review as they deem appropriate the records covered by the notice and consult with each other, the archivist, and such other executive agencies as they deem appropriate concerning whether invocation of executive privilege is justified,” the order states.
“If either the attorney general or the counsel to the president believes that the circumstances justify invocation of executive privilege, the issue shall be presented to the president by the counsel to the president and the attorney general.”
The result is that the president ultimately would decide if those records can be released.
“After receiving such notice, the archivist shall not disclose the privileged records unless directed to do so by an incumbent president or by a final court order,” the order said.
Meanwhile, there are some who maintain Obama was not born in the U.S. at all as he claims, but in Africa.
An affidavit submitted to WND by Rev. Kweli Shuhubia, an Anabaptist minister in Kenya, who is the official Swahili translator for the annual Anabaptist Conference in Kenya, asserts “it is common knowledge throughout the Christian and Muslim communities in Kenya that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., was born in Mombasa, Kenya.”
Shuhubia further states in his affidavit that he visited Obama’s grandmother at her home in the village of Alego-Kogello, on Oct. 16, 2008, in order to conduct a telephone conference interview that would connect with McRae in the United States.
During the telephone interview, McRae specifically asked Sarah Obama two times, “Were you present when your grandson was born in Kenya.”
“Both times she specifically replied, ‘Yes,’” Shuhubia affirmed in the affidavit.
“Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama was very adamant that her grandson, Senator Barack Hussein Obama, was born in Kenya, and that she was present and witnessed his birth in Kenya, not the United States,” Shuhubia continued in the affidavit.
WND also reported the office of Hawaii Republican Gov. Linda Lingle has officially declined a request made in writing by WND in Hawaii to obtain a copy of Obama’s hospital-generated long-form original birth certificate.
The “Certification of Live Birth” posted online and widely touted as “Obama’s birth certificate” does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same “short-form” document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true “long-form” birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.
Oddly, though congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a “natural born citizen,” no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama’s claim to a Hawaiian birth.

Although Obama officials have told WND all such allegations are “garbage,” here is a partial listing and status update for some of the cases over Obama’s eligibility:
- New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress didn’t properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of president.
- Berg has three cases pending, including Berg vs. Obama in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a separate Berg vs. Obama challenging Obama’s eligibility to be a U.S. senator and Hollister vs. Soetoro a/k/a Obama, (now dismissed) brought on behalf of a retired military member who could be facing recall to active duty by Obama.
- Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.
- Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut’s secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.
- Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state’s 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public’s support.
- Chicago lawyer Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama’s vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.
- Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama’s eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama’s citizenship. His case was denied.
- In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.
- Also in Ohio, there was the Greenberg v. Brunner case which ended when the judge threatened to assess all case costs against the plaintiff.
- In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama’s citizenship. The case was denied.
- In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama’s birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia’s secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.
- California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters. She also has brought forward several other cases and has conducted several public campaigns to generate awareness of the issue.

Seller claims Mombasa document ‘certified copy’

With dozens of lawsuits filed over access to Barack Obama’s certified long-form birth certificate, many more lawyers working on his behalf to keep it secret and the validity of the U.S. Constitution hanging in the balance, guess where a “certified copy” of the original Mombasa “document” has been found?
On eBay.
Item No. 160344928067, at least as of today, is described as “a certified copy of President Barack Obama’s Kenyan Birth Certificate.”
The seller, identified by the user name ” colmado_naranja,” states, “President Barack Hussein Obama II was born in The Coast Provincial Hospital at Mombasa in Kenya at 7:24 PM on August 4th, 1961.”
The suspicion that Coast Provincial is, in fact, Obama’s birth hospital is not new, with the subject having been discussed on both Internet blogs and forums already.
But the seller, who according to the eBay rankings has completed dozens of transactions on the behemoth auction site without difficulties, said this is the real deal.
The seller, who did not respond to a WND request for an interview, said online he was traveling in Kenya and repeatedly heard stories that Obama actually was born in Kenya.
“Kenyans were amused at how gullible Americans could be when it came to obvious things like the fact that Kenyans overtly admit to Barack Jr’s Kenyan birth, yet the Americans continue to believe that they know better,” the seller writes.
“I delved further and found that a birth certificate was on file at The Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombasa,” said the seller, who claims the certificate is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“I know several American expats that reside in Kenya. I asked the three that I could reach if they were aware of President Barack Obama’s Kenyan birth. All three said that they were most obviously aware of his Kenyan birth. I was shocked. They went to further say that they weren’t much concerned with it, after all they’d left the U.S. to start a new life abroad and didn’t have much interest in what was taking place in the States. Besides, they said, who would believe them anyway?
“Along with my Congolese brother Andylenny (brother in heart, not blood) and a 1993 BMW with only one working door I was off to Mombasa to get myself a copy (certified I hoped) of Barack Jr’s birth certificate,” the seller reported.
Actual details of how the “certificate” was obtained are not reported.
“I am not posting any photos of the birth certificate here on eBay. I have not seen this birth certificate anywhere on the Internet, to post it here on eBay would lead to a flood of facsimiles on the Internet. This would inadvertently decrease the value of the certificate as well,” the seller said.
WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”
Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama’s American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.
Other challenges have focused on Obama’s citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.
Complicating the situation is Obama’s decision to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest all of the questions.
WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
The campaign followed a petition that has collected almost 400,000 signatures demanding proof of his eligibility, the availability of yard signs raising the question and the production of permanent, detachable magnetic bumper stickers asking the question.
The birth certificate seller is a self-proclaimed “collector of old Dominican and Cuban money” and has worked in the Congo.
“This spring I traveled through Kenya and its capital Nairobi. I was overwhelmed by the ‘iconicized’ face of U.S. President Barack Obama that displays itself throughout the country. I had lunch at a small eatery and noticed that the club sandwich with fried plantains was now known as ‘Obama’s Plate of the Day,’” the seller writes. “As an American I was bombarded with questions in English (English is national language of Kenya) on my feelings and opinions of a Kenyan governing the United States of America. The first several times I responded in saying that not enough time had elapsed since Barack Obama’s appointment as president of the U.S.A., and that I’d have to hold my official opinion until at least January 2010, a year in office might be sufficient for me to judge his ability to govern the U.S.A.
“Naturally I thought that by ‘Kenyan’ they were referring to Barack Obama’s blood, being that his father Barack Obama Sr. was a native of Kenya. After a day and a half of my being in Nairobi I learned that they were literally referring to President Barack Obama Jr. as being born in Kenya, a native of Kenya.”
The seller also cited the fact that Obama has not release his “Hawaiian” birth certificate. His administration, the seller sayd, “in an attempt to put the birth certificate issue to a rest, has presented the American public with a FAKE, FORGED, Fraudulent Hawaiian Birth Certificate.”
The seller indicated a willingness to respond to questions about the item, for which bidding was set to begin at $1,000. But the seller said questions would be evaluated and may not get a direct response.
The “certification of live birth” posted online and widely touted as “Obama’s birth certificate” does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same “short-form” document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true “long-form” birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.
Oddly, though congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a “natural born citizen,” no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama’s claim to a Hawaiian birth.

‘Mama Sarah’ will go to Mecca for Islamic pilgrimage required by Quran

JERUSALEM – President Barack Obama’s paternal grandmother, Sarah Obama, will reportedly perform the Muslim Hajj pilgrimage this year along with her son Syeed Obama.
A private Kenyan television channel, quoted extensively by the Kenyan and Pakistani media, reported Sarah Obama and her son will also visit Dubai before going to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj. The pair lives in Kenya.
The News, a newspaper in Dubai, confirmed the report. It quoted United Arab Emirates’ property tycoon Sulaiman Al Fahim as stating he will personally sponsor Sarah Obama’s trip after meeting the elderly Obama in Kenya last week and learning she had always wanted to perform the Hajj.
“I found out that she had not been to the Hajj and that she very much wants to go. As my own mother is no longer with us, our family has a spare place. So I invited her and she has accepted,” The News quoted Fahim as saying.
The Hajj is the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. The fifth pillar of Islam requires every able-bodied Muslim to travel to Mecca at least once in their life in a demonstration of solidarity with fellow Muslims and in an act of individual submission to Allah.
Obama’s grandmother, a Muslim known locally as “Mama Sarah,” lives in Kogelo, a tiny village near the Ugandan border. She was in Washington, D.C., in January for Obama’s swearing-in ceremony.
WND’s Jerome Corsi reports in the April issue of Whistleblower that Sarah Obama is also the woman who affirmed her elected grandson was born in Kenya, prompting doubts that Barack Obama is eligible to serve as president of the United States.
And though Obama supporters say Sarah Obama’s words were mistranslated, Corsi’s Whistleblower investigation revealed eyewitnesses and affadavits from a translator verifying Sarah Obama testified to being present at Barack Obama’s birth in Mombasa, Kenya.
Whistleblower, Corsi writes, obtained an affidavit submitted by Rev. Kweli Shuhubia, the official Swahili translator for the Anabaptist Conference held annually in Kenya.
In the affidavit Shuhubia states that he visited Obama’s grandmother at her home to conduct a telephone conference interview with Bishop Ron McRae in the United States, in which the bishop asked Sarah Obama if her grandson was born in Kenya.
“Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama was very adamant that her grandson, Senator Barack Hussein Obama, was born in Kenya, and that she was present and witnessed his birth in Kenya, not the United States,” Shuhubia states in the affidavit. “During the conversation, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama never changed her reply that she was indeed present when Senator Barack Obama was born in Kenya.”
Obama’s faith was a central part of his presidential campaign. He has repeatedly has denied he is a Muslim. His presidential campaign website contained the statement, “Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.”
But as WND has reported, public records in Indonesia listed Obama as a Muslim during his early years, and a number of childhood friends claimed to the media Obama was once a mosque-attending Muslim.
Obama’s campaign several times had wavered in response to reporters queries regarding the senator’s childhood faith.
Commenting on a Los Angeles Times report quoting a childhood friend stating Obama prayed in a mosque, Obama’s campaign released a statement explaining the senator “has never been a practicing Muslim.”
Widely distributed reports have noted that in January 1968 Obama was registered as a Muslim at Jakarta’s Roman Catholic Franciscus Assisi Primary School under the name Barry Soetoro. He was listed as an Indonesian citizen whose stepfather, listed on school documents as “L Soetoro Ma,” worked for the topography department of the Indonesian Army.
Catholic schools in Indonesia routinely accept non-Catholic students but exempt them from studying religion.
After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was enrolled “also as a Muslim, according to documents” in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta.
Laotze blog, run by an American expatriate in Southeast Asia who visited the Besuki school, noted, “All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school, and a young ‘Barry Soetoro,’ being a Muslim, would have been required to study Islam daily in school. He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam.”
Indeed, in Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams From My Father,” he acknowledged studying the Quran and describes the public school as “a Muslim school.”
“In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies,” wrote Obama.
The Indonesian media have been flooded with accounts of Obama’s childhood Islamic studies, some describing him as a religious Muslim.
Speaking to the country’s Kaltim Post, Tine Hahiyary, who was principal of Obama’s school while he was enrolled there, said she recalls he studied the Quran in Arabic.
“At that time, I was not Barry’s teacher, but he is still in my memory,” claimed Tine, who is 80 years old.
The Kaltim Post said Obama’s teacher, named Hendri, had died.
“I remember that he studied mengaji (recitation of the Quran),” Tine said, according to an English translation by Loatze.
Mengaji, or the act of reading the Quran with its correct Arabic punctuation, is usually taught to more religious pupils and is not known as a secular study.
Also, Loatze documented the Indonesian daily Banjarmasin Post interviewed Rony Amir, an Obama classmate and Muslim, who described Obama as “previously quite religious in Islam.”
“We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house,” Amir said. “If he was wearing a sarong (waist fabric worn for religious or casual occasions) he looked funny.”
The Los Angeles Times, which sent a reporter to Jakarta, quoted Zulfin Adi, who identified himself as among Obama’s closest childhood friends, stating the presidential candidate prayed in a mosque, something Obama’s campaign claimed he never did.
“We prayed, but not really seriously, just following actions done by older people in the mosque,” said Adi. “But as kids, we loved to meet our friends and went to the mosque together and played.”

Obama’s official campaign site contained a page titled “Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.” The page stated, “Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ.”
But the campaign changed its tune when it issued a “practicing Muslim” clarification to the Los Angeles Times.
An article in March by the Chicago Tribune apparently disputed Adi’s statements to the L.A. paper. The Tribune caught up with Obama’s declared childhood friend, who now describes himself as only knowing Obama for a few months in 1970 when his family moved to the neighborhood. Adi said he was unsure about his recollections of Obama.
But the Tribune found Obama did attend mosque.
“Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia,” states the Tribune article.
It quotes Obama’s former neighbors and third-grade teacher recalling how the young Obama “occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers.”
Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, notes the Tribune article “cited by liberal blogs as refuting claims Obama is Muslim” actually implies Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim and twice confirms Obama attended mosque services.
In an interview with the New York Times, Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
The Times’ Nicholos Kristof wrote Obama recited, “with a first-class [Arabic] accent,” the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer.

Some attention also has been paid to Obama’s paternal side of the family, including his father and his brother, Roy.
Writing in a chapter of his book describing his 1992 wedding, Obama stated: “The person who made me proudest of all was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol.”
Still, Obama maintains he was raised by his Christian mother and repeatedly has labeled as “smears” several reports attempting to paint him as a Muslim.
“Let’s make clear what the facts are: I am a Christian. I have been sworn in with a Bible. I pledge allegiance [to the American flag] and lead the Pledge of Allegiance sometimes in the United States Senate when I’m presiding,” he told the Times of London earlier this year.

Just a few years before this showdown on Mount Carmel, Israel had been lush with prosperity and wealth. King Ahab had led the Israelites on a path that led farther away from the old, established worship of God than any before him, and had brought them to a life of riches, prosperity, and licentiousness.
The gods that he and his wife Jezebel had enticed the people of God with appealed to their earthly and fleshly desires. No longer did they have to be constricted with an old religion that demanded holiness and the fear of the Lord. No longer did they have to lead a life of separation from the things of the world that other, more prosperous nations enjoyed. They could enjoy the prosperity and fullness of riches without the constraints of a religion that had become outmoded and old-fashioned.
Life was good. So when Elijah pronounced the judgments of God upon Israel, they laughed him out of the king’s court. The true prophets of God had been eradicated from the public place and were no longer a thorn in the side of everyone who wanted the rewards of love, peace, and prosperity. You were no longer allowed to mention the name of Jehovah, much less pray to him in a public place. They now had priests and prophets of Baal that had replaced those old critical and judgmental men who had caused such consternation in the land.
Elijah had stood as the one, lone voice who cried for a return to righteousness.
And who was this hairy old man? He didn’t seem to be of any real consequence. He had no credentials, no theological bearing, and no consequential importance. Even his dress revealed his lack of social prominence and his irrelevance in such a modern, sophisticated time as this.
Ahab’s ears may have been deaf to Elijah’s pronouncement, but when Elijah spoke, God listened. The Ahab’s court may have derided him with laughter as he stood before the king, but 3 years later, no one was laughing.
We have followed a course similar to the one that Ahab had led Israel down. The Gospel we listen to is far different than the Gospel our grandfathers believed in. We decry the old brush arbor revivalists as hard, judgmental men who did not understand the love of God, and we have traded their message of repentance and holiness for one that is a kinder, gentler approach which promises love and peace and prosperity.
But the love, peace, and prosperity that our modern prophets have promised us are but a worldly shadow of that which God offers us through a walk of righteousness in the fear of the Lord.
We have been like the Israelites at the foot of Mount Sinai – we feared and trembled at the presence of God when the mount shook with fire and smoke, but as soon as Moses departed up the mountain and we were left to our own devices, we made for ourselves a golden calf to worship in God’s place.
I have said for 7 years now that something is coming to America that will be far worse than 9/11, but I never knew what form that judgment would take. Would it be a dirty nuclear explosion in one of our cities, or an epidemic, or some natural disaster? We would be hurt, but it wouldn’t take long to go back to our old ways. We are the great and mighty America, and we have an innate belief that we will always bounce back and dominate.
What if it wasn’t any of those imagined disasters, but something that struck right to the heart of that which we cherish the most? What if we lost our prosperity and wealth? And what if it consumed every level of our society and every part of our country?
We are living in that time of drought when the ravens fed Elijah by the brook Cherith, right after he fled the king’s court.
We look to our televangelists who promise us blessings, and refuse to consider that our lust for those promises is what has led us to this drought in the first place. But we still flip on the TV and hope for a word of encouragement that will convince us to hang on to a Gospel that has a form of godliness, but denies the power thereof. And of course, they tell us exactly what we want to hear, along with an encouragement to send them your money so that God can release His blessings all over you – but never a word of reproof or repentance.
The job of a prophet is not to tell you how beloved you are, how many blessings God wants to bestow upon you, or how much love is in your church. The job of a prophet is to rebuild the old broken down altars of God and declare unto the people of God their sins and transgressions so that they may come to a place of repentance and, once again, return to the true God of Israel.
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Obama funded foreign thug who promised Islamic state
Agreement with Muslims pledged to protect terrorists, throttle Christians, impose Shariah

NEW YORK – A controversial Kenyan leader for whom Sen. Barack Obama not only campaigned, but raised almost $1 million during the run-up to that nation’s 2007 presidential election, had concluded a written agreement with Muslim leaders stipulating that, if they delivered him the Muslim vote, he would in turn, once elected, convert Kenya into an Islamic state governed by Shariah law, protect terrorists from prosecution, and effectively ban Christianity.
WND documented earlier that Obama supported and campaigned for Kenya opposition leader Raila Odinga during a 2006 senatorial “fact-finding” trip to Kenya, and subsequently reported on documents revealing Obama’s part in raising almost $1 million for Odinga.
Accord to a BBC report, Odinga says he is Obama’s cousin, specifically that the presidential candidate’s father was Odinga’s maternal uncle. Obama’s father, a Kenyan, married his American mother while both were attending the university of Hawaii.
Odinga took over the office of prime minister in Kenya after his campaign called for protests of an election he lost by more than 200,000 votes to incumbent Mwai Kibaki. The resulting violence by marauding Muslim mobs left 1,000 people dead, hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes and 800 Christian churches damaged or destroyed. No Islamic mosques were damaged, however.
Among the worst attacks occurred when several dozen women and children sought refuge in a Christian church which mobs burned down on top of them.
WND has reported that the violence appears to have been part of Odinga’s campaign strategy. Former members of Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party, or ODM, claim Obama did not call on Odinga to drop his voter-fraud campaign or withdraw from his pursuit of the presidency even after he lost and the violence erupted.
WND has confirmed that at one point, then-United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice actually pressured Kenyan Vice President Kolonzo to step down from his position to bring the Odinga-connected Luo-mob protest violence to an end by appointing Odinga vice president so he could assume the nation’s second highest political office.
When Kolonzo refused to step down, Annan and Rice proposed the Odinga-inspired plan of appointing him as prime minister, effectively allowing Odinga to share the head-of-state position with Kibaki, a solution that was adopted.
Now WND has obtained a copy of Odinga’s agreement with Sheik Abdullahi Abdi, the chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, that outlined plans, among other things, for wide-ranging attacks on Christians.
In the August 2007 document, Odinga promised that within six months of becoming president he would “rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared religions.”
While in Kenya earlier this month, WND interviewed several Christians who had been officials in Odinga’s ODM, but who had left the party and abandoned Odinga after learning of his agreement with Muslims. Their names cannot be disclosed here as they fear for their lives.
Those sources, considered highly credible, told WND there are several versions of the agreement that have been floated around on the Internet, but that the document reproduced by WND is authentic. In fact, they went through the document line by line with WND to confirm its legitimacy.

Although Odinga later produced a “short version” that sanitized the agreement, highly credible sources close to Odinga confirmed for WND that the long version reproduced by WND is authentic, and that the short version was produced just to defuse the controversy.
Indeed, one of the main reasons WND went to Kenya was to meet ex-ODM officials who would validate the original Memorandum of Understanding as authentic.
In the document signed by Odinga and the chairman of the National Muslims Leaders Forum, the Muslims promised to “enable and assist ODM and The Candidate win the National Elections and the Presidency of the Republic of Kenya.”
The Muslims agreed to “issue a joint statement declaring that all Muslims should support and vote for Raila Amollo Odinga and ODM” and “engage in active campaigns for Raila Amollo Odinga and ODM through the Republic and impress upon Muslims, publicly and emphatically, the requirement to vote for ODM and Raila Amollo Odinga.”
In return, Odinga agreed to give “the Council of Islamic leaders … an oversight role to monitor activities of ALL (emphasis in original) other religions and any applications for religious activities and institutions will require their approval. They shall have the right to deny approval to cults and other evil practices.”
The plan apparently was to turn Kenya, which has long been a Christian-majority nation, into an Islamic state.
In addition to promising to re-write the Kenyan constitution and enshrine Islamic Shariah law therein, Odinga promised to immediately “dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the Kenya Muslim community.”
Further, Muslims suspected of terrorism, even international terrorism, were to be provided new protections, with Odinga’s promise to:
“Disband the imperialist Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) that was set up for the sole purpose of terrorizing, harassing, intimidating and deporting innocent Kenyan Muslims to Guantanamo Bay.”
Further, Odinga agreed, “No Muslim residing in Kenya whether a citizen, visitor or relative of any of the above shall be subjected to any process involving the laws of a foreign country and in particular any Muslim arrested for or suspected of Terrorism or any other International crime shall only be tried within the boarders (sic) of Kenya …”
The power and influence of Islam was to be further extended with Odinga’s promise to: “within 1 year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenya divisional headquarters,” and to “popularize Islam, the only true religion … by ordering every primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa class.”
Strict Islamic Shariah law was to be enforced with immediate crackdowns on alcohol, pork and other “haram” products and practices, including a ban “on women’s public dressing styles that are considered immoral and offensive to the Muslim faith in the Muslim regions of the Coastal and Northeastern regions.”
And ominously, Christianity was to be subjected to a formal crackdown with Odinga’s promise to “impose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshippers of the cross in the Coastal and North Eastern regions” and his plan to “outlaw gospel programs (preaching, purported faith healing, etc.) on KBC, the National Broadcaster.”

Investigation hits headlines as author detained

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama’s participation in Kenya’s political battles grabbed headlines when author and WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi was detained by soldiers and prevented from reporting his findings to media at a news conference in Nairobi.
Now “The Obama Nation,” the book that contains a large part of Corsi’s investigation into Obama’s work with opposition leader Raila Odinga in Kenya, has skyrocketed up the Top 10 list of best-sellers at Shop.WND.com.
The New York Times No. 1 best-seller outlines Obama’s extensive connections with Islam and radical politics, his continuing links inside Kenya and what may have been a political strategy discussion about Odinga’s campaign that resulted in post-election violence against that nation’s Christian community.
Corsi, who also co-wrote the No. 1 New York Times bestselling “Unfit for Command” and is a senior staff reporter for WND, writes about the “extreme leftism” that an Obama presidency would feature.
By tracing Obama’s career and influences from his early years in Hawaii and Indonesia, the beginnings of his political career in Chicago, his voting record in the Illinois Legislature, his religious training, his religious conversion through his recent involvement in Kenyan politics, his political advisers and fund-raising associates and his meteoric campaign for president, Corsi shows that an Obama presidency would, in his words, be “a repeat of the failed extremist politics that have characterized and plagued Democratic Party politics since the late 1960s.”
Corsi, who has fallen ill following his detention in Kenya, was confronted by armed soldiers and immigration authorities just as he was planning a news conference in Kenya to release more results from his investigation of Obama and Odinga.
The situation developed last Tuesday as Corsi was to discuss Obama’s ties to Kenya as well as Odinga, who has claimed he is Obama’s first cousin. It was a series of “protests” following Odinga’s 2007 election defeat in that nation’s presidential election that produced enough violence to damage or destroy hundreds of Christian churches and kill an estimated 1,000 people.
Corsi was taken under guard to an immigration office and held without food for most of the day until his scheduled flight out of Nairobi was being prepared, and he then was taken to the airport.
A Kenyan resident later told Corsi bribes totaling thousands of dollars were paid to facilitate his departure, at which point Kenyan authorities made sure he understood he was not welcome.
“Don’t ever come back. See you in hell,” Corsi reported an unidentified official told him as the author left.
In second place this week is the strong statement made by the NObama 08 Magnetic Bumper Sticker.
The bumper sticker has been at either of the top two positions in the list for most of the last several months.
It reflects an opinion not just about a political candidate but all of the issues that come with a candidate, such as abortion. GOP candidate Sen. John McCain has a long record of supporting pro-life positions, and Obama has advocated for abortion even beyond what the National Abortion Rights Action League has sought.

As WND reported, the issue was in the news recently when an Obama campaign television commercial not only attacked McCain but also took aim at an unusual target: a 31-year-old woman who was born alive after her mother’s botched abortion.
Obama’s commercial calls McCain’s ads “the sleaziest ever, truly vile.” When the screen shows clips of abortion survivor Gianna Jessen and the ad she made asking Obama to reverse his stance on born alive infant protection legislation, the Obama ad calls Jessen’s appeal “a despicable lie.”

Senator’s continuing ally launches genocidal tribal violence

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama has continued to support Kenya’s Raila Odinga, even after Odinga has been blamed for inciting tribal violence and slaughtering Christians, according to an explosive new book written by WND senior staff reporter Jerome R. Corsi.
In “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality,” Corsi argues that Odinga’s protests following his loss to U.S.-backed Mwai Kibaki in Kenya’s 2007 presidential election led to a wave of tribal and religious violence aimed against Kibaki’s majority Kikuyu tribe.
The violence Obama’s ally was blamed for included the slaughter of some 50 Pentecostal Christians.
As WND reported earlier, during his first visit to Kenya as a U.S. Senator in 2006, Obama openly campaigned for Odinga, to the point where Kenyan government spokesman Alfred Mutua accused Obama of meddling inappropriately in Kenyan presidential politics. Mutua charged during a television news video that Obama had become a “stooge” to Odinga during the Kenyan presidential election campaign. Obama’s father belonged to the same Luo tribe as Odinga.
In the disputed Dec. 27, 2007, presidential vote, Odinga charged he was denied winning the presidency by voter fraud.
After the election, Odinga pressed for a power-sharing arrangement in which he would be the prime minister in a government where Kibaki was president, with the two factions sharing a 50-50 power split in the cabinet.
Odinga’s claim led to widespread fighting that killed more than 1,000 people in the weeks after the election, leaving more than 350,000 Kenyans displaced.
While proving involvement is difficult, many in Kenya assumed the post-election violence was supported, if not organized, behind the scenes by Odinga and his Orange Democratic Movement party.
In a horrifying incident following the election, at least 50 people, including women and children, were killed when an angry mob forced Kikuyu Christians into an Assemblies of God Pentecostal church and set fire to the church, hacking with machetes any of the Christians who tried to escape the flames.
The violence occurred in the village of Eldoret, about 185 miles northwest of Nairobi. The massacre in the church was part of youth gang violence aimed at harassing the Kikuyu Christian minority, which before the election numbered around 20 percent of Eldoret’s 500,000 people.
After the church burning, the vast majority of Eldoret’s Kikuyu Christian minority fled the city, in fear of their lives.
Christian missionaries report over 300 Christian churches were severely damaged or destroyed in the violence that swept the country, but mosques were left undisturbed.
Another horrific report came from the Telegram in London, reporting the wave of post-election violence involved members of President Kibaki’s Kikuyu tribe being attacked in Nairobi slums by ethnic groups including gangs of Luo tribe youth and men who were engaging in gang rapes of women and sodomizing boys as young as five years of age.
The Telegraph reported the vast majority of the victims were assaulted in their homes and all had been targeted because of their Kikuyu tribe membership.
Mobs slashed their way into homes, attacking everyone they found with machetes and clubs. Youths raped women in front of their husbands and many wives were then dragged from their homes and killed.
In the final days of the New Hampshire Democratic Party primary, after the post-election violence in Kenya, Obama told reporters he had telephoned Raila Odinga by telephone.
Obama sided with Odinga, indicating Odinga was willing to meet with Kibaki.
“Obviously he [Odinga] believes that the votes were not tallied properly,” Obama told reporters, almost as if he were running for election in Kenya. “But what I urged was that all the leaders there, regardless of their position on the election, tell their supporters to stand down, to desist with the violence and resolve it in a peaceful way with Kenyan laws.”
Reporters asked if Obama had telephoned Kenyan President Kibaki.
“I have not spoken to President Kibaki as yet,” the senator answered, “but I hope to get in touch with him some time soon. I want to see if I can be helpful.”
It is unclear whether Obama ever spoke with Kibaki, after a rough initial meeting during Obama’s 2006 Kenyan trip.
