Lebanese leader: ‘They opened the doors of Europe to this wrecker’

By conducting diplomacy with Syria, France and Israel have “opened the doors of Europe” to Syrian President Bashar Assad, who has been working to destabilize Lebanon, charged Lebanon’s Druze leader Walid Jumblatt in an interview with WND yesterday.

“They have opened the door to Europe freely to Assad without mentioning his wrecking of Lebanon and the Hariri tribunal,” said Jumblatt, head of the Progressive Socialist Party and considered one of the most prominent pro-democracy politicians in Lebanon.

Jumblatt was referring to an international tribunal to try the murderers of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, who was assassinated in February 2005 in a car bomb blast widely attributed to Syria.

“I don’t understand French policy. I am afraid Assad is now at ease, waiting for new a administration in the United States. President Bush will leave and then the isolation that was around Bashar will be over,” Jumblatt said.

Last weekend, Assad attended a French-initiated regional conference at which financial deals with Syria were discussed. French President Nicolas Sarkozy promised to make a state visit to Damascus in September or October and to send a delegation of high-level businessmen and legislators to Syria in next month – a major blow to U.S.-imposed sanctions against Damascus.

Assad’s invitation to France was issued immediately after it was announced in May that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was conducting indirect talks with Syria regarding renewing negotiations over an Israeli retreat from the Golan Heights.

The Syrian talks with Israel are widely credited with partially ending a U.S.-imposed policy of isolating the Assad regime, specifically in bringing about French and greater European diplomacy with Syria.

While he had harsh words for Israeli and French diplomacy with Damascus, Jumblatt praised an Israeli prisoner exchange deal with the Hezbollah terror group that it set to take place today.

“Look, even though we are at adds with Hezbollah, they did their job precisely and they did succeed. Now they are getting paid,” Jumblatt told WND.

In the controversial deal, Olmert’s government agreed to release Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar and four captured Lebanese guerrillas in exchange for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers captured by Hezbollah in a 2006 raid.

Kuntar, considered a hero in the greater terrorist community, is currently serving four life sentences in an Israeli prison for murdering four Israelis in a 1979 terror attack in northern Israel.

He reportedly sent Hezbollah a letter from his Israeli prison cell indicating he would like to join the Lebanese terror group once he is released from Israeli prison.

‘Opposing homosexuality makes you sick’

Brazil president holds conference to battle ‘homophobia’

The president of Brazil says “opposing” homosexuality makes you a sick person, and he believes such thoughts need to be criminalized.

It was only a few decades ago when the American Psychiatric Association listed homosexuality as a mental disorder, before it succumbed to a pro-”gay” campaign to discontinue that definition.

Now Brazilian chief Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who won a narrow re-election following a cash-for-votes scandals, has held the First National Conference of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals to condemn the biblical belief that homosexuality is wrong.

Lulu, on June 5, not only officially opened the event to promote homosexuality across his nation but also issued a presidential sanction for the conference.

Calling for “the criminalization of homophobia,” he said opposition to homosexuality is “perhaps the most perverse disease impregnated in the human head.”

He said “prejudiced” people need to “open their minds and clean them.” Other speakers encouraged homosexuals to claim to be part of a civil rights campaign that already has brought reforms for treatment of blacks, the elderly and the disabled. They also announced the nation’s public hospitals soon would begin to perform sex changes on people.

Brazilian pro-family activist Julio Severo, in an e-mail interview, said the move towards the standards of Sodom and Gomorrah is more advanced in his nation than in the U.S. – for now – because of the absence of Christian fundamentals for society.

“[Christians] involved [in politics] are massively directed by leftist philosophies, especially liberation theology in its several forms,” he said.

“Those not involved think that the only option for social action is to copy the political activism of Christian left-wingers,” he said.

Severo said what needs to happen is for Christian churches to renounce socialism en masse and get involved in politics, using biblical guidelines as their standards.

“They need to prepare and send ‘Josephs,’ ‘Davids’ and ‘Daniels’ to conquer public office,” he said.

Severo said the homosexual community, unlike many advocacy groups’ claims in the past, clearly isn’t satisfied with “widespread acceptance” of its sexual lifestyle. That dissatisfaction is leading to demands for approval and endorsement, and to eradicate “homophobia” and “homophobic” thoughts by law.

The Lula administration has taken bold steps to this end, he said. The Special Secretariat of Human Rights, in conjunction with other government departments, has launched the “Brasil sem Homofobia (Brazil Without Homophobia)” campaign, he noted.

This program markets itself as one designed to promote greater understanding of homosexuality in Brazil. However, its actions have been far from peaceful. In May, one of its founding members, Luiz Mott, filed charges of defamation against pro-family activists and posted their home addresses to the Internet.

For now, conservatives have a right to free speech, Christian leaders have reported. However, if homosexual advocacy becomes law, it will be classified as part of the “dignity of the person” and, therefore, will trump any speech rights still held by Christians.

Severo admits he has big concerns about the developments he sees.

“Only God knows what the future will bring,” he said.

Offend a homosexual … Go to prison for 5 years

Teachers, pastors facing ‘criminalization of homophobia’

Christians will face prison for speaking out against homosexuality if Brazil’s Senate passes a bill approved unanimously by its House of Representatives.

The measure is considered the country’s newest attempt to promote homosexuality, disguised as an act to combat discrimination, the Catholic News Agency reports.

If anyone prevents actions of “homosexual affection” in public or private locations open to the public, they could face up to five years in prison for doing so, the Association of the Defense of Life reports.

The bill also seeks to penalize private and public school administrators with up to three years in prison if they refuse to hire openly “gay” teachers.

According to the CNA, the measure will force prison time for any “moral, ethical, philosophical or psychological expression that questions homosexual practices.”

The ADL claims the bill could spell disaster for churches and teachers.

“[A] priest, a pastor, a teacher or even an average citizen who says in a sermon, a classroom or public conversation that homosexual acts are sinful, disordered or an illness could be denounced and detained,” the association said.

Only weeks ago, WND reported the president of Brazil said “opposing” homosexuality makes you a sick person, and he believes such thoughts need to be criminalized.

SAY NO VISA for Ahmadinejad

In News, Politics, Religion on July 17, 2008 at 2:49 pm

JERUSALEM REPORT

Dear Readers,

Iran’s fanatical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said on State television that he would again go to New York to attend this year’s United Nations General Assembly session. It will be Ahmadinejad’s third trip to the UN since the beginning of his presidency in August 2005. He comes to use the American press to mobilize support for him in Iran, and to use the UN to do the same.

President Ronald Regan refused to allow Yasser Arafat to have a visa to visit the UN in 1988. Arafat was forced to go instead to the UN assembly in Geneva. It was there that I confronted him face-to-face in a press conference viewed worldwide. The PLO threatened to kill me if I did not shut up; I did not.

Ahmadinejad said recently: “You should know that the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime which has 60 years of plundering, aggression and crimes in its file has reached the end of its work and will soon disappear off the geographical scene.” As for the United States, Iran’s fanatical leader proclaimed that the “satanic power” of the United States was about to be destroyed.

Under Ahmadinejad’s direction, Iran is responsible for the vast majority of the deaths of U.S. troops in Iraq. Iran furnishes IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and finances and trains the 60,000-strong Mahdi army, one of its terrorist sub-contractors.

Iran is responsible for the vast majority of Jewish deaths in Israel through its sub-contractors in Lebanon and Gaza, Hezbollah and Hamas. This year under Ahmadinejad’s leadership, Iran will reach the point-of-no-return with its nuclear centrifuge program.

If the U.S. does not stand firm, this madman, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will give Israel no choice but to destroy Iran’s nuclear reactors.

VOTE YOUR OPINION TODAY!Your vote will be sent to President Bush.

Should President Bush grant Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a visa to travel to New York City?

If one million or more vote “No” and pray, I believe President Bush will say “No” to Ahmadinejad. This is the last attempt we have to stop him before it’s too late. High-level Israeli leaders have told me an attack may come this fall before the U.S. elections.

If God stopped Nebuchadnezzar, He can stop Ahmadinejad. We must act now! After praying about that, I believe there is a simple solution to this problem. If every Jerusalem Prayer Team member will pray and vote and get 10 others to do the same, I believe President Bush will not give President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a U.S. Visa. Please vote today.
